A Legacy of Trust, Technology, and Transformation
Meet Our Founder—
George Giaimo
When you've been trusted to help navigate a spacecraft, keeping a studio's email running doesn't seem so daunting.
George Giaimo's career began in 1977 at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, on the navigation team of the historic Voyager mission — working the massive mainframe systems that were, at the time, the cutting edge of exploration.
But George was never only a technologist. He was a bridge between deep technology and the people who depend on it. As the personal-computer revolution arrived, he saw where things were heading and made a bold pivot — soon joining a small company called BusinessLand, which grew into a billion-dollar enterprise. It was there that his rare blend of technical depth and plain-spoken communication won him a high-profile account:
Paramount Pictures.
Meet Tim Crozier—
Chief Consultant
Tim is more than a skilled engineer—he’s a trusted guide for clients navigating technology and mechanics alike. Starting his journey as an auto mechanic at a local Ford dealership, Tim’s natural curiosity for how things work quickly grew into a lifelong fascination with cars, trucks, and trains. When personal computers began to transform daily life, Tim dove into the world of tech, mastering DOS and BASIC programming and soon sharing his knowledge as a computer instructor.
After 14 years at the corporate headquarters of a leading Japanese car manufacturer, Tim continued to expand his expertise in both automotive and IT fields. At Balboa Computer, Tim is renowned for his ability to take even the most complex technical problems and break them down into simple, practical solutions for clients. He believes that every question deserves a clear answer, and every client deserves personal attention.
Tim’s commitment to client care is at the heart of everything he does. He listens closely, explains patiently, and ensures every client feels confident and supported—even when the technology seems overwhelming. With Balboa and Tim Crozier on your team, you’ll always have an engineer who genuinely cares and a partner who makes technology approachable.
The Company That Understood Hollywood
Working inside Paramount, George saw a gap no one was filling. Technology wasn't keeping pace with the unique demands of film and television production. Studios didn't need another hardware vendor — they needed a partner who understood both the breakneck pace of entertainment and the growing role technology played behind the scenes.
So in 1993, Balboa Computer, Inc. was born — not as another IT shop, but as a strategic partner to the entertainment industry. Over 33 years we've worked across multiple generations of hardware and software and the constant churn of a global production environment, for names like
NCIS,
Matlock, and
Yellowstone
— supporting studio executives, producers, and on-set crews so they can focus on the work while we handle the infrastructure.
Over 30 Years of Technology Leadership
Over the last six years, that three-decade studio relationship has grown into something very few firms can offer: full production email administration. We stand up and run email for entire productions — hundreds of crew accounts across multiple countries, integrated into studio systems, secured and spam-filtered, provisioned and retired as fast as a crew rolls on and off. It's the natural result of understanding both the technology and the way a production actually works — and it's become the heart of what we do.
